What is a Gastroscopy?
A Gastroscopy is a medical procedure, during which the stomach is examined with a flexible tube, the so called gastroscope. The doctor can inspect the gastric mucosa in order to detect alterations, such as tumors, ulcers or inflammations. If a change is suspected to be pathological the examiner can take tissue samples for further laboratory tests.
